The Kansas Department of Transportation has awarded two contracts to an Emporia company for highway signage.
Cooper Construction LLC won a nearly $1.5 million contract to sign work in parts of Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson and Nemaha counties. This will improve or replace signs along parts of US Highways 36, 73, 75 and 159, as well as Kansas Highways 9 and 20.
Cooper Construction also won an almost $780,000 contract for similar work in Allen, Anderson, Bourbon, Neosho and Woodson counties. That will improve signage along US highways 54, 59 and 169.
