Organization Description: The Walter S. and Evan C. Jones Foundation (“The Jones Foundation”) is a private charitable foundation established in April 1974 which is focused on providing medical assistance and educational assistance for youth who are residents of Coffey, Lyon, and Osage counties in Kansas. The Foundation’s vision is to create communities with unsurpassed standards of sustainable health and education opportunities. Our mission is to improve the health and education of eligible Kansans in Coffey, Lyon and Osage counties using the core principles of compassion, fiscal responsibility, integrity and respect for privacy, and shared accountability with the communities it serves.
Position Description: Are you an experienced leader with a passion for making a difference? We are seeking an Executive Director to lead our organization and drive our success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of relationship building and community engagement, promotion of and implementation of organizational vision, grant and financial management, and working with board governance. As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of The Jones Foundation operations, including budgeting, staff oversight, and strategic program implementation. Main Position Responsibilities:
- Promotion of philanthropy by establishing and building relationships and maintaining a visible profile for the Jones Foundation in the communities in Coffey, Lyon and Osage counties, including participating in events, organizations, and other opportunities, and keeping marketing materials, including the website, updated
- Grant management, including work with medical providers, educational institutions, and applicants, and insuring timely responses, payments, recording and reporting of approved grants
- Ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the board of directors and other key stakeholders
- Overseeing all aspects of the organization’s operations, including financial management, budgeting, operating policy development, and program implementation
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
- Providing leadership and direction to staff
Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of non-profit experience in a leadership position preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, educational administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in publications and communications
- Proficient in Microsoft programs; experience with accounting software preferred
- Use of websites and social media preferred
- Preferred knowledge and experience in philanthropy, public policy, board governance
