Strong City Mayor Lydia Simmons was a guest on the KVOE Morning Show on Thursday and gave an update about the Streetscape project in Strong City that is currently taking place in town.
Simmons says the project will help fix drainage issues and erosion problems. The city was awarded a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the state of Kansas worth $750,000 to partially pay for the project. The estimated costs for the project are around $1 million. Simmons outlines additional benefits of the project and what other projects might be on the horizon.
Work on the project began on Tuesday, July 8th. Simmons thanks City workers for their hard work and asks the public for their patience during the construction process.
