The Emporia Recreation Commission will end its 2024-25 financial operations as part of its meeting slate Monday.
The board will officially close the books on the 2024-25 fiscal year before moving into a hefty agenda for its regular meeting, which includes standard start-of-the-fiscal-year reorganization matters like choosing officers and approvals like the fiscal 2025-26 budget for publication, meeting dates and monthly payments.
The meeting also includes additional discussions about possible after-school programming for USD 253 Emporia after the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas moved to end its 10-year affiliation with the district just three years into its agreement. Discussions on youth sports trends, a Kansas State High School Activities Association tournament update and employee tax credits are also planned.
The meeting slate begins at 5:30 pm at the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
