Year two of the Crosswinds Counseling and Wellness Swing Away Stigma golf tournament saw impressive growth from year one, as the agency itself is continuing work to expand within the local area.
According to Development and Marketing Director for Crosswinds, Cara Codney, the second annual event held at the Emporia Golf Course on Saturday had 32 teams participating, up from 29 a year ago. Codney says that while that may not seem like a major jump in numbers, the event was at full capacity.
Codney says that has a lot to do with the positive experiences and word of mouth that the 2024 event generated.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to support Crosswind’s rural
In addition to the golf tournament, Codney says Crosswinds also has some tax credits to sell off to help with the expansion of services. At this time, she says the agency is exploring any and all options available to help grow its reach across the area.
Totals from the tournament are currently pending.
