Work will resume this week on Emporia’s major street repair projects.
For Street Rehab, work will start Monday on Walnut from 12th to 15th, as well as Cottonwood and Sylvan from South Avenue to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks. Street Rehab has nine street segments in line for repairs:
*West Ridge Court: West Ridge Drive to Timmerman Drive
*Trail Ridge Road: Tomahawk Road to 15th Avenue
*8th Avenue: Walnut Street to West Street
*E. Wilman Court: Rural Street to 18th Avenue
*Cottonwood Street: 2nd Avenue to railroad and South Avenue to 1st Avenue
*Sylvan Street: South Avenue to railroad
*Walnut Street: 12th Avenue to 15th Avenue
*Grand Street: 9th Avenue to 12th Avenue
*Alternate: Soden Road: Commercial Street to Zoo Education Center
Concrete Street Repair continues as well, with 10 street segments on that list for repairing or replacing concrete:
*Weaver between the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks and West Sixth.
*15th Avenue (Lincoln Street to Lawrence Street).
*West Ridge Court and South Parkway Court Intersection.
*Monterey Drive approach at Coronado Avenue.
*Montezuma Court approach at Coronado Avenue.
*Montezuma Drive approach at Coronado Avenue.
*Rio Vista Drive approach at Coronado Avenue.
*18th Avenue at East Wilman Court.
*18th Avenue at Center Street.
*Del Oso Drive (Curb and Gutter)
As mentioned last week, work begins Monday on Street Preservation, or crack seal and chip seal. This involves 12 different street segments:

• Corinth St (600 block)

• Dorset Dr (6th Ave to dead end)
• Homewood St (300–400 block & Hwy 50 to cul-de-sac)
• Donelson Dr
• E. 7th Ave (1600 block)
• E. 9th Ave (Whildin to Sunrise)
• E. 10th Ave (Whildin to Weaver)
• Sunrise Dr (700–1000 block)
• Waverly Way (700–900 block)
• Harcourt Dr (1000 block)
