The city of Emporia’s existing process for utility billing, especially online, is in the process of a significant change.
The current online system through Invoice Cloud, including an autopay option, was disabled this past Friday. Next week, the city will begin accepting payments through the new Tyler Payments system starting Aug. 4 — and residents will need to create a new online account starting that date if they want to make payments via computer. Residents will need to go online to emporiaks.gov/utilitybillpay to start that process.
Residents can still pay in person by cash, check or credit card, or they can use the drop box in the city parking lot immediately south of the Water Department office and current Emporia Fire Department headquarters at White Auditorium. Residents enrolled in autopay through the Water Department office, not online, do not need to make any changes — but there will be no transactions between July 25 and Aug. 4.
Residents with questions can call the Water Department at 620-343-4244 or email utility@emporiaks.gov. City Treasurer Janet Harrouf will have more information on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment at 7:20 am Wednesday.
