The local listening area is set to receive a much-needed reprieve from the oppressive heat that’s been impacting the area for the past several weeks.
Following highs in the upper 90s Wednesday, a significant cool-down is expected to accompany storm and shower chances Thursday through the upcoming weekend. The National Weather Service is anticipating temperatures in the upper 70s on Thursday, followed by similar conditions on Friday.
Rain and storm chances will continue through the upcoming weekend with air temperatures warming up slightly, reaching the mid to upper 80s between Saturday and Sunday and nearing 90 degrees by midweek.
