The Emporia Public Library is bringing the funny to town with a new program aimed at middle school to high school-aged youth.
Find Your Funny is a week-long program that will take place at the library on Tuesday, August 12, Thursday, August 14 and Friday, August 15 from 6 to 7 pm. The program will teach participants how to find their inner performer by teaching the ins and outs of comedy and the various genres encompassed in the art form.
Participants will learn what makes stand-up and what may not, how to write and deliver original material and more. In addition to the performance skills, the program is also designed to help young people find their unique voice while also building confidence and public speaking skills.
The program will culminate with a live showcase at the White Auditorium Little Theatre on Saturday, August 16th at 4 pm. Registration is now open on the Emporia Public Library website or by calling 620-340-6462.
