Several street segments, mainly in east Emporia, will have Street Preservation work continue Thursday.
In fact, 11 street segments will have fog sealing work done through the day:
• 3rd Avenue (Neosho Street to Rural Street)
• 8th Avenue (Congress Street to West Street)
• 8th Avenue (Woodland Street to Prairie Street)
• 10th Avenue (State Street to Neosho Street)
• Grove Avenue (West Street to Walnut Street)
• Sherman Street (3rd Avenue to 6th Avenue)
• State Street (Railroad to 12th Avenue)
• Washington Street (Grove Avenue to 12th Avenue)
• West 6th Avenue (US Highway 50 to Graphic Arts Road)
• West Street (3rd Avenue to 5th Avenue)
• Wilson Street (6th Avenue to 9th Avenue)
Numerous other infrastructure projects continue across Emporia, including street work through the separate Street Rehab and Concrete Street Repair categories. Work also continues into late next year for the Southeast Transmission waterline replacement project.
Underground Utilities crews had to handle a water main replacement at Seventh and Sunnyslope on Wednesday. Repairs took around five hours to complete. Thursday had a separate water main break in the 1100 block of Exchange.
