Jury trial may be coming next month in a Lyon County drug distribution case.
Following a pretrial hearing Thursday, Kyndal Orange is awaiting trial possibly starting Sept. 8, Sept. 29 or Oct. 20. Trial is tentatively set to finish in two days, regardless of the start date. There will be a status hearing Sept. 3.
On Thursday, Judge Lee Fowler denied a defense motion to modify Orange’s bond, but Fowler says he will revisit that request If Orange offers receipts for “proper documentation of treatment.”
Orange is currently charged with distributing up to 100 grams of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Emporia High School back in early March. He’s also accused of possessing meth, marijuana and paraphernalia, as well as traffic counts and transporting an open container of liquor.
