One person was hurt as part of a three-vehicle wreck on US Highway 56 between Allen and Admire on Sunday night.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck happened almost directly between the two communities shortly after 9 pm. Troopers say a semi driven by 50-year-old Kenneth Hogenes was eastbound and hauling an unspecified oversized load when it hit a westbound car driven by 21-year-old Elijah Jackson of Gypsum. Jackson’s car then hit a second semi, driven by 37-year-old Edward Tabanico of Yuma, Arizona. Tabanico’s semi was also hauling an unspecified oversized load.
Neither of the semi drivers were hurt, but Jackson suffered possibly serious injuries and was taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment.
