With Lyon County’s 2026 budget set to be approved next month, residents may be getting revenue-neutral notices over the next few days.
Lyon County Clerk Amie Jones says the notices should be in mailboxes by the middle of this week.
The back side, meanwhile, explains the front side of the mailing.
Jones says property holders will get notices. If property holders have more than one property, the notice should reference all the properties held by that person or people.
Revenue-neutral notices are now part of the budgeting process for all taxing entities across Kansas after action by the Kansas Legislature several years ago.
Jones stresses the notices reflect the county’s estimated revenue-neutral status, which won’t be finalized until county commissioners approve the overall budget next month. She says residents don’t need to do anything when they receive the notices. However, if they have questions, they can call the County Clerk’s Office at 620-341-3243.
