Flint Hills Beef Fast is underway.
Beef Fest got started this past weekend with the annual golf tournament, and organizer Danny Broyles says a lot is coming to the community calendar through Saturday. But first — the cattle have to get into position after time at the Highland Ranch.
Broyles says there are a lot of activities Friday, starting with the live stocker show and beef producer seminar in the morning and the ranch feed and ranch rodeo in the evening.
Saturday’s schedule is also full.
KVOE staffers will cook free hamburgers, courtesy of the Flint Hills Beef Fest Committee. Burgers will be available while supplies last.
Activities culminate Saturday with the steak feed and awards banquet featuring ventriloquist Greg Clausen, followed by music from the Steve Kile Band.
