The contracts are now finalized for a long-awaited bridge replacement project following the Lyon County Commission’s regular meeting Friday morning.
As part of their agenda, commissioners approved signing the project contracts for the Rocky Ford Bridge Replacement. This action comes a week after commissioners approved a mussel survey for the relocation of a rare species of mussel located in the river over which the bridge will sit.
A full project timeline is currently pending; however, Lyon County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield says it is likely physical work will begin on the replacement in the late winter or early spring.
In other business Friday, commissioners approved an entrance application for two entrances at the request of Fred Wingert. The upfitting of a Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Dodge Durango, totaling just over $22,700, was also approved.
Of that price tag, $17,321.99 will be paid from the multi-year law enforcement vehicle equipment capital fund, with the remaining $5,397.50 to be paid from the law enforcement miscellaneous contractual fund.
Commissioners will reconvene for their weekly action meeting at 9 am Thursday inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
