Pending Lyon County approval, Evergy could have a new use for some of its property near Emporia.
Lyon County Planning Board members have recommended approval of a zoning change in the 1600 block of Road 200 to Agriculture Conditional Use-Utility Maintenance Yard. County Zoning and Floodplain Administrator Sam Seeley says Evergy will use this location to serve as a supply hub for large transmission poles as line upgrades continue areawide.
County Commissioners could review the application as soon as their Aug. 28 meeting.
