Bucks for Buckles is coming — and soon.
The annual traffic safety campaign offers dollar bills for drivers and all occupants that are safely belted as they pass through different checkpoints, often at high school football games. Unbelted or unsecured drivers and passengers will receive education materials about seatbelts and child safety seats.
Across the KVOE listening area, Safe Kids Kansas has announced several events:
*Aug. 27: Chase County High School, Cottonwood Falls
*Aug. 27: Council Grove High School and Council Grove Elementary, Council Grove
*Sept. 3: White’s Foodliner, Osage City
Officially, the campaign goes from Monday through Sept. 7. The Bucks for Buckles campaign involves a partnership with the Kansas Department of Transportation, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, State Farm and Safe Kids Kansas.
