Above-ground work on Emporia’s new QuikTrip is coming in about three months, but a lot of the infrastructure work is now done.
A brand-new road and roundabout now connects Graphic Arts Road immediately southwest of the Flint Hills Technical College main campus to long-existing roundabouts connecting Interstate 35, the Kansas Turnpike and US Highway 50. Recent striping essentially finishes that aspect of the project, which has been underway since January. Below-ground infrastructure to support both the QuikTrip development and potentially others nearby has also been installed.
QuikTrip Corporate Communications Manager Aisha Jefferson says construction is tentatively planned to start in mid-November and finish by late summer 2026. Jefferson says the convenience store will be about 7,300 square feet and will include the full-service QT Kitchens as part of its features.
