A pair of court cases against an Emporia man, including one that recently gained attention for fishing license violations, appear to be ending early in their respective court processes.
Adam Wade Garrett was recently charged with not having fishing licenses, taking or dealing in wildlife and interfering with law enforcement after an alleged incident in late July. He pleaded no contest to single counts of unlawful taking or dealing in wildlife and interference with law enforcement as part of a hearing Monday. Remaining counts were dismissed.
Separately, Garrett was charged with meth possession, paraphernalia possession and criminal trespass after an alleged incident earlier in July. He pleaded no contest to paraphernalia possession and had the other counts dropped.
Sentencing in both cases will be Oct. 16.
