Emporia’s community calendar is always busy, but some times of year are busier than others.
Consider September, which already has several activities on the calendar just for the first half of the month.
Visit Emporia Interim Director Matt Fowler says planning is well underway for activities well down the road.
The Sept. 5-7 weekend includes the First Friday Art Walk, second annual Howe Hoist and monthly Good Way Gardens concert. The Sept. 12-14 weekend also includes the Great American Market.
September activities follow a busy summer, including Unbound Gravel, Pro Disc Golf Association Junior Worlds tournament, Lyon County Fair, Flint Hills Beef Fest and The Wall That Heals.
