There is a lot of excitement for the upcoming Front Porch Jams Concert this Friday for more reasons than one.
During KVOE’s Primetime Newsmaker Wednesday morning, Front Porch Jams Director Jeanna Scheve stated she is very excited about the lineup of performers set to take the stage.
As always, the concert will go to support a local cause with this month’s focus being on the work of Radical Life, an Emporia-based program dedicated to keeping children out of the foster care system by providing services and support to families struggling with poverty, addiction, or instability to help keep their family whole. The program has been in operation for a little over four years now and Lindsey Smith of Radical Life says has grown significantly in a very short period of time.
Smith also expressed her excitement for the concert, but not just because of the awareness and support it will bring to the organization; her excitement also comes from a personal place, as until just a few short years ago, Smith was unable to enjoy music like most.
This month’s concert will take place at 1382 Road 210 in Emporia from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For more information, visit Front Porch Jams of Lyon County on Facebook.
