Newman Regional Health Volunteers is getting ready for a busy week next week.
The support wing for Newman Regional has organized a special supply drive for Spartan Stop operations at Emporia High School. Organizer Lynn Lang credits Spartan Stop organizer Heather Wagner for recognizing different student needs and developing the operations model almost 10 years ago.
Fellow volunteer Carol Renau says the organization is glad to help both inside and outside the hospital.
The drive goes Sept. 2-5. Numerous items are requested, including:
*Socks of all sizes
*Underwear of all sizes
*Granola bars
*Protein drinks
*Protein bars
*PopTarts
*Peanut butter
*Jelly
*Canned chicken with pop tops
*Vienna sausages with pop tops
*Tuna pouches
*Individually wrapped crackers
*Individually wrapped potato chips
*Canned fruits with pop tops
*Blankets
*Pillows
*Conditioners
*Shampoos
*Body washes
*Toothpaste
Residents can drop off items at the Newman Regional Health snack bar or the Entrance F box.
