Three people were hurt, two possibly seriously, as part of a wreck in southern Greenwood County on Thursday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened at the junction of US Highway 400 and Kansas Highway 99 just before 8 am. Troopers say a westbound box truck driven by 48-year-old Yosvany Moreno Rodriguez of Oklahoma City turned south onto K-99 and hit an eastbound full-sized van.
Neither Moreno-Rodriguez nor the van driver, 24-year-old Carlos Perez of Wichita, were hurt. Neither were three passengers in the Perez van. However, three passengers in the van were hurt. Amparo Puentes-Puentes, age 46 of Wichita, and 23-year-old Mariana Ramirez-Sandoval of Wichita both suffered suspected serious injuries, while 17-year-old Gabriel Moreno of Wichita suffered possibly minor injuries Moreno and Ramirez-Sandoval were taken to Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka for treatment. Puentes-Puentes was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
