Has this been a busier construction season than normal?
If you believe it is, City Engineer Jim Ubert tends to agree.
While several projects continue into the fall, Ubert began his Morning Show interview Thursday on a supplemental project of sorts: repaving Prairie Street north of 15th after the core work on the 24th and Prairie waterline replacement project.
Now that concrete subgrade patches are done on Prairie Street between 12th and 15th, that part of Prairie has reopened to traffic. Prairie will have a mill and overlay project between Interstate 35 and West 12th beginning in mid- to late September.
Another lengthy project, the Interstate 35 bridge replacement over Lincoln Street, is nearly done after work started early last year.
Ubert says other projects continue, including Concrete Street Repair, Street Rehab, Street Preservation and the Southeast Transmission waterline replacement project.
