A Texas semi driver was hurt in a crash on the Kansas Turnpike near Emporia on Saturday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 9:40 am. Troopers say the semi was southbound on I-35 and was two miles south of the Emporia gate when it went off the highway for unlisted reasons. The truck then went through wire fence and an unspecified number of trees before hitting the north ditch.
The driver, 63-year-old Felix Longoria of Huntsville, was taken to Newman Regional Health with suspected serious injuries.
