As grant funding shrinks and demand for services expands, the Salvation Army has made some adjustments to its thrift store as a way to generate funding.
Capt. Mylie Hadden says funding is always hard, but with increasing costs and the trend towards lower revenues, the decision was made to attend a special thrift store-related training session in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Hadden says this is designed to help the bottom line, but it’s also designed to help customers and donors as well.
The Salvation Army thrift store is at 520 Constitution, operating at a different address from its office and food pantry at 327 Constitution and the annex building officially on West Fifth next to the office.
