Evergy is reminding area ag producers about the need to be aware — and safe — as their harvest work takes them near above-ground electric utilities.
Public Safety Manager Andy Connell, a guest on KVOE’s Morning Show last week, says harvest activities are starting to pick up across the state. He also says safety is an increasing concern for one obvious reason: size.
So what should an equipment operator do when equipment hits a power line?
Electric incidents may happen sporadically, and Connell says it appears not all of them are reported.
Connell says ag producers should call 9-1-1 if they are involved in an electric incident. They can also download the Evergy app for more information about power outages.
