The Emporia boys soccer team rallied in the second half on Tuesday night to top Topeka Seaman 3-1 at Emporia High School. The first half was scoreless until the Vikings struck first to take a 1-0 lead in the 2nd half. Junior forward Brayden Sailer scored the first goal of the Spartans season to tie it.
Sailer scored again with 19 minutes to go in regulation to give Emporia a 2-1 lead, and ten minutes later junior midfielder Thiago Esquivel put the game out of reach to make it 3-1 the final. Emporia improves to 1-0 on the season and next will travel Thursday to St. Mary’s Academy.
