Infrastructure and housing will be among the Emporia City Commission’s focuses when they convene for their regular slate of meetings Wednesday.
As part of their action agenda, commissioners will consider two resolutions related to a single project. The first will be to award a paving project on Overlander Road to Killough Construction for just over $4.1 million for asphalt pavement, subject to approval from the Kansas Department of Transportation. The second resolution will be to authorize financing improvements for Overlander.
Separately, commissioners will consider approving an application for a $650,000 Moderate Income Housing Grant before considering the reappointment of the Municipal Court Judge and judicial service agreement.
Commissioners will then adjourn to City Conference Room 1AB for their regular study session, with the only item of business being their final 2026 budget overview. The meetings will begin at 11 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
