In high school golf, Emporia High School hosted the EHS Invitational at the Emporia Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon. Layla Johnson led Emporia with a 24th place finish, shooting 119 and a +48. Kelsey Shull was right behind in 25th place with a 125 and +54.
Former Emporia golfer Elise Eckert won the event, shooting a 68 finishing 3-under par as a golfer on Topeka Seaman. Seaman shooting 315 as a team.
Next up for Emporia golf is a trip to Salina Central on Sept. 9.
