Morris and Dickinson County authorities are asking for help in finding a man with Emporia connections last seen Sunday.
James Cole, age 24, apparently started using the Flint Hills Nature Trail at Herington and walked east. An initial report says Cole was tracked to 2800 Avenue and US Highway 56, between Herington and Delavan in western Morris County. Bloodhounds then tracked Cole to Burdick before the scent was lost.
Authorities also say Cole had no jacket, no food and no water when he started on the trail around 7:15 am Sunday.
Cole is a white male, weighing 140 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He also has extended family near Emporia, according to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
