Most area high school football teams kick off the season Friday night around the state of Kansas, and one of the biggest matchups in the area will be a battle between Madison and Lebo on Mix 104.9 FM. Madison looks to build upon a strong season in 2024 when the Bulldogs finished 7-4 en route to a playoff run to sectional round and bring back some key players from a year ago including Octavian Dean and Cruz Leiser. Head Coach Nate Teichigraeber says he feels good about his team but knows Lebo presents a big challenge.
Lebo is coming off of a 7-3 season a year ago that ended in the regional round. Lebo will be a younger team in 2025 and are led by returning all-leaguers Brayden Hopkins and Ayden Ferguson. Wolves head coach Brian Hadley knows starting the season with Madison will be a good test for his young squad.
Coverage of Friday’s Area Game of the Week begins at 6:40, kickoff at 7 on Mix 104.9.
Other area games on Friday:
Northern Heights at Burlingame
Olpe at Osage City
Hartford at Fairfield
Lebo at Madison
Chase County at Little River
