Match Day is still more than two months away, but the Emporia Community Foundation is continuing a lot of behind-the-scenes work to make the event successful, both overall and for the participating organizations.
Chief Executive Officer Linda Kehres-Schmidt says the summer has been busy for both the Community Foundation and the different agencies.
Match Day is Nov. 17, and 35 different groups from Lyon and surrounding counties are getting started with their public presentations — including social media videos — at this time.
Ahead of the official date, KVOE will have participant profiles on our Friday Talk of Emporia programs the next several weeks — starting this Friday at 11:06 am and going through mid-October.
Participating nonprofits must have an operating budget no bigger than $175,000. They must also have an office in a county served by the Emporia Community Foundation, as well as an account with the Community Foundation. Following last year’s record total of almost $770,000, over $3.8 million has been generated over the last 11 years for area nonprofits through Match Day.
