Entertainment in two different categories is coming to the Historic Richard Howe Farmstead this weekend.
Saturday features the second annual Howe House Hoist, according to Lyon County History Center Director Greg Jordan.
The Hoist is a collaborative effort involving the History Center, Good Muscle and Kansas Spanish Speakers CEO LeLan Dains. Participant registration is $30 through Good Muscle, but the Hoist is free to attend. Activities go from 5-8 pm.
Meanwhile, Good Way Gardens has its September concert Sunday. Organizer Elexa Dawson says readings from House of Morrow guests — in this case, Emporia State Creative Arts students — will precede music from the Patti Steel Trio.
Activities go from 4-6 pm. Following the concert, there is a project to move tarps from the garden and plant cover crop seed.
