Smoke from Canadian wildfires may have contributed to a fire alarm on the Emporia State campus late Thursday night.
Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says crews were called to the Towers Complex just before midnight. Conley says crews did a thorough search but found no internal source of the smoke.
Conley says there was a smoke smell across town but it apparently concentrated in the building Thursday evening. The reasons are unclear.
