The Emporia State cross country teams opened 2025 at the JK Gold Classic in Wichita Saturday morning. Battling a muddy course, both teams finished seventh. Dylan Hunter had the best time for the men placing 14th in the 6k men’s race. ESU’s best finisher in the women’s 5k was Mason Bina. ESU returns to action in Lincoln, Neb. for the Greeno-Dirksen Invitational on September 20.
