Allison Williams is the new K-State Extension 4-H Youth Development Agent in Lyon County. Williams started her new position on August 18th and points to her lifelong experiences in 4-H as what propelled her to this position. She says it also helped that she was already involved in 4-H in Lyon County.
Williams started the position in August by jumping right into state fair preparations and credits current staff extension agents with helping her get prepared and settled into the new position. Williams says that her first year in the position is a lot of training, that includes going to Manhattan for on-campus orientation later this month. Williams feels that Lyon County has a robust 4-H program and explains why that is.
Williams details that her experiences in 4H has a youth transformed her from a shy youth to a leader as an adult and would like to help give back to the community in a similar way that she experienced as a youth. Also, her previous experiences and relationships formed in 4-H in Lyon County has helped the transition to the new position as 4-H Youth Development Agent. Williams details her goals in the new position.
