Emporia State athletics has announced its 2025-26 composite basketball schedule and each team will start the year in St. Joseph, Mo. The teams will play at separate sites like last year with the men at the MWSU Fieldhouse and the women at the St. Joseph Civic Arena on November 14. The men make their home debut on November 19 against William Jewell while the women will play their first home match on November 22 against Missouri S&T. The Hornets will open the MIAA schedule on December 4 exactly how they ended last year: with a road trip to Northwest Missouri. The ESU men will play a noon home game on December 15 hosting Kansas Christian. Following a split road trip to wrap up the first semester on December 20, the MIAA schedule begins in earnest on New Year’s Day 2026 with a road trip to Central Missouri. Tom Billeter returns for his second year leading Hornet basketball while MJ Baker will begin her first season on the bench for the ESU women. The MIAA Tournament begins on March 3. Mix 104.9 will be the home for Hornet basketball again in 2025-26 with specific coverage plans during crossover season and conflicting men’s and women’s games announced at a later date.
Edit: Corrected a tip-off time for ESU’s December 15 game.
