The Emporia Recreation Commission is meeting next week, but it’s also meeting Wednesday evening.
The board is meeting at 5:45 pm for its annual budget and revenue-neutral rate review and interpretation meeting. The board will then close that meeting and immediately open a meeting to approve those items.
The Rec Commission meetings come on the same day as the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education meetings, in part so the district can finalize its own annual budget and revenue-neutral matters. Both meetings will be held at Mary Herbert Education Center, but Rec Commission and USD 253 board member Jeremy Dorsey says the Rec Commission meetings will likely take place first.
The Rec Commission has its regular monthly meeting ahead Monday.
