Another week, another report of blue-green algae alerts for local and area lakes.
King Lake near Emporia State’s Prophet Aquatic and Research Outreach Center remains in an algae warning, as does the city’s Peter Pan Park pond. Emporia State’s Wooster Lake between the Memorial Union and Welch Stadium remains in an algae watch.
In Osage County, Melvern Outlet River Pond and Swim Pond are still in algae warnings.
