Emporia’s 2026 budget will be front and center for the City Commission meeting Wednesday.
Commissioners will begin their action meeting at 11 am and will almost immediately roll into public hearings for the revenue-neutral rate and overall budget. Votes will follow on the budget and annual appropriations.
In the consent agenda, where several items can be addressed with one vote, commissioners could award a bid for stormwater improvements at Fifth and Mechanic. An executive session follows on economic development.
The study meeting will have discussions on codes and building permit fees.
The action meeting and executive session will be at the Municipal Court Room. The study meeting is at White Auditorium City Conference Room 1AB.
