Newman Regional Health has some technological advancements now in use.
The hospital says recently-upgraded equipment in the Cardiovascular Lab is now helping patients. New diagnostic tools let cardiologists see through arteries, helping with procedures like stent placement. Interventional Cardiologist Dr Michael Lloyd says that upgrade, by itself, will help doctors be more accurate with their treatments and improve patient outcomes.
In addition, new diagnostic testing will help evaluate the functional health of arteries.
Besides those improvements, Newman Regional Health also recently installed a new CT scanner to replace technology approaching 15 years old. The new scanner from Canon is four times more powerful than the previous model and helps doctors with cardiac scoring, and CT brain perfusion for stroke evaluations.
Dr Lloyd and several Newman Regional Health administrators will have more about the new equipment on KVOE’s 7:20 Newsmaker segment Friday.
