USD 252 Southern Lyon County Superintendent Ryan Muhlig is pleased the district finalized a budget with a virtually flat levy recently.
Muhlig also says the flat levy comes at a time when costs are increasing.
Muhlig says USD 252 is in a consortium of around 40 districts collaborating to keep their insurance premiums as low as possible, including a possible switch from full-pay to self-pay like USD 253 Emporia is considering.
Separately, board members discussed transportation matters, especially with its SUVs, maintenance trucks and transit vans, to see when would be a good time to change those out. No decisions were made.
