It’s probably no surprise Newman Regional Health administrators are pleased new equipment is now helping patients in the Cardiovascular Lab.
KVOE News has told you new diagnostic tools let cardiologists see through arteries, helping with procedures like stent placement, and new diagnostic testing will help evaluate the functional health of arteries. Also, a new CT scanner will help doctors with cardiac scoring and CT brain perfusion for stroke evaluations.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Friday, Interventional Cardiologist Dr Michael Lloyd said the upgrades were done in part because of the age of prior equipment and in part because of the medical needs in rural areas.
Director of Imaging and the Cardiovascular Lab Jim Crump says time is vital with heart procedures.
Advanced Practice Practitioner Adam Galindo says this continues the work done locally to reduce heart-related deaths.
