General budgetary matters are handled for USD 251 North Lyon County.
The district’s Board of Education recently passed the budget. Superintendent Bob Blair was glad to see the levy dipped slightly from 39.3 mills to 39 and the revenue neutral rate remained flat.
Separately, the district approved a patron survey as USD 251 considers significant facility projects. This follows two-plus years of conversations, just with this round of planning.
Blair says the district is currently considering three facility projects: remodeling Northern Heights with a special addition; a new high school near North Lyon County Elementary/Junior High in Americus; and a new K-12 campus “near the student population.”
This effort follows three different votes on significant facility matters last decade. All three failed.
The patron survey begins Sept. 26 and continues into mid-October. USD 251 representatives will discuss the survey and its implications for the district on KVOE’s Morning Show on Sept. 29.
