Blue-green algae warnings continue for two local lakes.
Emporia State’s King Lake and the city pond at Peter Pan Park remain in warnings as of Friday’s update from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Meanwhile, Melvern Outlet River Pond, in a warning for weeks, has been downgraded to a watch. And both Emporia State’s Wooster Lake and the Melvern Outlet Swim Pond have had their alerts lifted.
