Emporia Fire continues investigating a fire that developed Saturday afternoon.
The fire happened at 1106 Constitution and was reported shortly before 4:30 pm. Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says smoke was reported drifting from the second floor before crews arrived.
However, following a sweep of the house, the blaze flared again, bringing fire to the second-story west window.
The home was built in 1930 and is owned by Walid and Javid Safdar. Conley says it was being vacated by renters at the time of the fire. There are currently no reports of injuries. A cause and origination point are currently pending.
