The Emporia State soccer team wrapped up the non-conference schedule with a 2-0 victory Sunday at Colorado State-Pueblo. Ella Favot tallied first 14 minutes into the game before a stalemate that lasted for about a half an hour of game time where the teams combined for just three shots before halftime. Avery Zimmerman gave the Lady Hornets an insurance score with 20 minutes to play. ESU’s defense smothered the ThunderWolves over the final 20 minutes as CSU-Pueblo managed just one shot the rest of the game. ESU (3-3) opens MIAA play on the road at Newman Friday. Kickoff is set for 3:00 from Wilkins Field.
