Two weeks of rodeo action were wrapped up, or rather roped up, Sunday in Emporia.
For the second straight year, the Lyon County Fairgrounds Grand Stands arena played host to the KSU rodeo both Saturday and Sunday. Events included pole and barrel riding, individual and team roping, steer wrestling and more in both the high school and junior high divisions.
Typically, the KSU rodeo is held in Manhattan; however, due to renovation work, the rodeo has been held in Emporia for the past two years. Saturday and Sunday’s activities followed the Lyon County Showdown Rodeo from this past weekend, both of which brought hundreds of young competitors and families to the local community.
