Spartans boys soccer went on the road on Monday night and while they had some success, ultimately fell to state power Maize South 5-2.
Brayden Sailer continued his strong form from his striker position, getting on the board with a goal. Kevin Magana added another, a strike from long range for Emporia but Maize South, had too much offensive firepower in their win.
Emporia will be back in action at home against Topeka High on Thursday.
